Description

A butter homogenizer mixes and plasticizes butter from 10–25 kg blocks before packing, evening out the texture and moisture distribution in the block. The butter becomes uniform, is packed at a lower temperature than with direct packing, is dosed more accurately and sticks less to the doser nozzle, so the pack comes out neater. The Milberg GM homogenizer is installed in front of a packing machine or semi-automatic packer; capacity is 800–1600 kg/h, or up to 2500 kg/h in the high-capacity version. The standard version handles butter from +8…10 °C, the reinforced version handles cold butter from +4 °C. An equivalent of the M6-OGA homogenizer.

Advantages

  • Milberg GM and GMS homogenizers are made of certified food-grade stainless steel. The GMS model is made entirely of stainless steel; the GM model is a semi-stainless version, with the chamber and all assemblies the product passes through made of stainless steel
  • Standard models with capacities of 800–1800 kg/h, plus the high-output GMS+ (over 2400 kg/h) for high-speed packing machines; a reinforced version is available for deep-frozen butter loaded from +4 °C
  • A set of interchangeable rotors with different numbers of blades (16 and 24) is supplied to select the degree of homogenization according to the properties of the incoming butter
  • The reliable drive design needs no constant maintenance or repairs and runs quietly
  • Drive protection against deep-frozen butter, so operator errors will not break or bend the screws
  • Installed and operated together with a butter packing machine in packing lines

FAQ

What temperature should the butter be?

The standard homogenizer handles butter from +8…10 °C, the reinforced one handles cold butter from +4 °C. Deep-frozen blocks are first shredded and then fed into the homogenizer, with no lengthy defrosting.

Will the homogenizer fit our packing machine?

Yes. We make the frame and nozzle height to suit your machine's hopper; send us the height from the floor to the hopper edge. There is a version for semi-automatic packers and a more powerful one for packing machines.

Can spread, margarine and fats be homogenized?

Yes, if their consistency is close to that of butter or spread. We can make the outlet round, for example for feeding the product into a pump.

What is the difference between GM and GMS?

The GMS is made entirely of stainless steel. In the GM, the chamber and all assemblies the product passes through are stainless steel. Interchangeable rotors with 16 and 24 blades are included to select the degree of homogenization.

How much does the homogenizer cost?

Prices start from €33,400. The final price depends on the version (standard or for cold butter), capacity and height to suit your machine. We will prepare a quotation within one working day.

What is the lead time, and where can I see it in operation?

We build to order, with a lead time from two months. You can inspect the finished homogenizer at our plant in Yekaterinburg before shipment, and contacts of plants where our homogenizers operate are available on request.
