KMSh-600 crystallizer for a butter lineOryol RegionDescription
The crystallizer (heat exchanger) cools butter, spread or margarine immediately after the butter-making machine to packing temperature, so the butter is packed in-line, without intermediate freezing in blocks. Most packing machines need butter at about +10…11 °C, whereas it usually leaves the butter-making machine at +16 °C or warmer. The crystallizer is installed between the butter-making machine and the packing machine — a Milberg FMB, an ARM or any other.
As it passes through the crystallizer, the butter is cooled by ice water in the heat exchanger jacket to 10–11 °C and becomes firmer, reaching the consistency needed for packing. The crystallizer inlet connects to the butter-making machine and the outlet to the packing machine's doser, bypassing the loading hopper. A screw moves the product along evenly, and its speed is controlled by a frequency converter in the control cabinet. For packing machines with product return we make a direct packing unit with an automatic check valve.
Price from €6,200. The final cost depends on the configuration, technical specifications and the tasks the equipment is selected for: volume and capacity, heating type, level of automation and options. Write or call us — our process engineer will select a suitable option and prepare a quotation within one business day.

FAQ
Will the crystallizer fit our packing machine?
Yes. The crystallizer is installed between the butter-making machine and any packing machine, with the inlet connected to the butter-making machine and the outlet to the machine's doser. For packing machines with product return we make a direct packing unit with an automatic check valve.
With or without a screw — which should I choose?
We make both versions. For direct packing we recommend the screw version, as the screw moves the butter evenly and its speed is controlled by a frequency converter.
What cools the butter?
Ice water fed into the heat exchanger jacket. At the outlet the butter is about +10…11 °C, as most packing machines require.
What is needed for start-up?
Connect the drive, the ice water and the product connections. Commissioning is usually ordered for the whole packing line at once.
How much does the crystallizer cost?
Prices start from €6,200. The final price depends on capacity and whether a screw, stand and control cabinet are included. Tell us the capacity of your butter-making machine and the packing machine model, and we will prepare a quotation within one working day.
