Shipping dairy products to Sakhalin from the mainland is expensive and slow, so local production has a natural advantage there. A private producer in the Sakhalin Region bet on this and decided to make cheese locally from local milk.

From our range of cheese vats, the VS-200 was the right fit: a vessel taking 200 litres of milk per make, with a heating jacket, tools for cutting and stirring the curd and convenient whey drainage. Its versatile format allows one unit to cover the entire product range of a small workshop — from fresh cheeses to semi-hard cheeses for ripening.

Delivery was completed in June 2019, including transport to the island region — a routine task for our factory: the equipment is packed for a long haul and transshipments along the way, and the accompanying documents are prepared in advance.

On Sakhalin, fresh locally made cheese competes not on shelf price but on freshness and flavour: it reaches the customer within days of being made, not after lengthy sea and rail logistics. It is precisely this difference that the customer is turning into a sustainable business with its VS-200: the range is adjusted to demand literally from one make to the next, something large brands shipped in from elsewhere simply cannot do.
