A manufacturing company in the Orenburg Region was looking for a cheese vat for a new line of business: it had the raw milk and sales channels but lacked the cheesemaking equipment to add cheeses to its existing range.

After discussing planned volumes, the choice fell on the VS-200 cheese vat. Two hundred litres of milk per make is a format that allows new recipes to be worked out in small batches as well as regular production of core products. The jacketed vessel holds the set temperature throughout the volume, and the cutting and stirring tools form uniform curd grains — the basis for repeatable results in cheesemaking.

The equipment was shipped in December 2023, and process recommendations for groups of cheeses — from fresh to semi-hard cheeses for ripening — were provided for start-up. The customer ran the first makes while checking with the factory's dairy process engineers by phone: this kind of support is standard practice at Milberg.

For the company it became an entry point into cheese without excessive investment: one versatile cheese vat covers the whole process from heating the milk to unloading the curd. And when the line grows, the established regimes can be transferred to larger vats — the technology will stay the same.
