In August 2023 a small private producer from the Republic of Tatarstan mechanized its butter cutting section by installing a USR-11 wire cutter.

The producer makes butter and sells it both in blocks and as bars, to suit the needs of shops and bakeries. While volumes were modest, cutting was done with a knife against a ruler; as orders grew, the manual method began to produce too much weight variation and noticeably slowed down shipments, especially during seasonal demand peaks.

The USR-11 divides a butter block into bars in one movement: a frame with tensioned wires passes through the product and leaves a smooth, even cut without dents. The bar weight is set by the frame geometry, so it is repeated from batch to batch without weighing and trimming each piece. The stainless steel construction can be dismantled and cleaned quickly — for a fatty product this significantly reduces the time spent on daily sanitation.

For a private producer, such a unit is an affordable step from an artisan process to an industrial one: a neat, uniform bar in every shipment, fewer losses from weight grading and the ability to increase volumes calmly, without being limited by the speed and fatigue of hands in the cutting section. The unit requires no utility connections and took up minimal space in the workshop — a specific requirement for a small producer when making its choice.
