The Vologda Region is an area where butter enjoys a special reputation, and the standards for its appearance are just as high. In November 2024 a private producer from this region purchased a USR-11 wire cutter for butter blocks from us.

The customer produces butter and sells it, among other ways, as weighed bars — at fairs, in farm shops and to regular customers. Previously the blocks were cut by hand: the cuts were uneven, the pieces varied in weight, and part of the product ended up as trimmings. For a producer who cares about how the product looks on the counter, this was a noticeable problem.

Wire cutting solves it elegantly: thin tensioned wires divide the block into neat bars of equal size in a single pass. The cut surface stays smooth with no ragged edges, portion weights are predictable, and the speed cannot be compared with a knife. The unit is compact, needs no special foundation and fitted easily into the existing workshop.

We manufactured the USR-11 at our factory in Yekaterinburg, checked the cut quality on test blocks and delivered it to the customer on the agreed date. A small Vologda producer got a tool usually associated with large butter plants — and noticeably raised the standard of preparing its product for sale.
