Automating butter packing depends not only on the packing machine itself but also on how the product gets into it. A manufacturing company in the Udmurt Republic faced exactly this problem: it had a packing machine, but butter was loaded into its hopper by hand, in chunks — losing pace and with unnecessary contact between the product and staff's hands.
We manufactured a USHPR-01 butter screw feeder for the customer — an item we build for a specific line rather than supply from stock. The screw feeds butter evenly from the loading hopper into the packing machine's receiver, preserving the plastic texture of the product and ensuring the continuous flow that the packing speed is designed for.
The unit was delivered in June 2023. The connection geometry was agreed with the customer's packing equipment at the design stage, so installation came down to putting it in place, connecting it and a trial run.
The result for the plant: the packing section runs at a continuous pace, manual handling of butter has been eliminated, and with it sanitary risks have been reduced. An item that looks small at first glance closed the gap between the butter workshop and packing — it is links like this that make up a smoothly running line without downtime or rush jobs. Building custom units to fit other manufacturers' equipment is a routine task for our factory, and this project confirmed it once again.
