A production company from Moscow uses butter as a raw material: blocks have to be turned quickly into a mass suitable for further processing. Breaking up frozen blocks by hand is slow, dangerous and unhygienic, so the company was looking for a dedicated machine for this operation.
In October 2024 we supplied the company with a UIM-01 butter shredding unit. The machine takes a block and shreds it into uniform shavings that temper quickly and are easily fed into downstream equipment — melters, mixers or the line's filling units.
Shredding eliminates the main problem of working with block butter: a large block warms unevenly, and while the core is still icy, the edges are already overheating and losing their structure. Shavings from the UIM-01 reach a uniform temperature in a short time, preserving the fat structure and the quality of the final product.
The unit was integrated into the plant's existing process line and eliminated a manual operation that had limited the productivity of the whole section. Product-contact surfaces of food-grade stainless steel and quick access to the working unit simplify daily cleaning and sanitary control. Its compact size made it possible to place the machine next to the raw material cold store, shortening the block's route from storage to the line to a few metres.
