An agricultural cooperative from Krasnodar Krai pools milk from several farms and processes it into value-added products. The next step was its own butter — a product in steady demand in the south of Russia that complements the range well. In April 2019 the cooperative received a set of two items: an MI-200 batch butter churn and a 40-litre stainless steel trolley on wheels for moving raw material and finished product around the workshop. The MI-200 works according to the classic churning technology: cream in the 200-litre drum is churned to butter grains, then the buttermilk is separated and the butter is worked to a uniform, plastic consistency. The batch principle allows small batches to be produced and makes it easy to switch between types of butter. The trolley took care of in-plant logistics: cream, buttermilk and finished butter are moved in a closed stainless steel container on wheels rather than in makeshift containers. The cooperative got a complete butter-making section where all the raw milk comes from its own members, and the finished product goes to local shops under the cooperative's brand. A complete delivery from one factory spared it the need to match equipment from different manufacturers.
