A compact butter churn at an operating dairy plant is most often either an experimental section or a niche product. In February 2019 a dairy plant from the Moscow Region purchased an MI-100 batch butter churn from our company.
The 100-litre unit makes it possible to produce small batches of butter by traditional churning. For a large plant this is a convenient tool: it can process cream left over from separating the main milk volume, develop new recipes or produce a premium butter range in small batches without tying up the main process line.
Churning in a batch drum gives butter a dense texture and pronounced creamy taste — the characteristics that distinguish "butter like it used to be" from spreads and the output of continuous lines. For tastings, fairs and local retail chains this is a ready-made trump card.
The market around Moscow values exactly this kind of product, and proximity to the country's largest consumer base lets the plant test demand for new products quickly. In this sense a small unit is an inexpensive way to expand the range without restructuring production: if the range takes off, it can be scaled up on larger equipment.
