Packing butter into blocks by hand is an operation that limits the output of the entire butter workshop. In October 2021 a dairy plant in the Kirov Region removed this bottleneck by installing an FMB-200 butter packing machine.

Before automation the plant packed butter manually: cutting, weighing and wrapping every block. As shipments to retail chains grew, this approach could no longer keep up — chains demand consistent weight, neat wrapping and steady delivery volumes without disruptions.

The FMB-200 performs the full cycle: it forms a block of the set weight from bulk butter, wraps it in laminated foil or parchment and delivers a product ready to be placed in cartons. Dosing accuracy is beyond what can be achieved by hand, and the wrapping is tight and identical on every block — which means both an attractive look on the shelf and protection of the product against oxidation and foreign odours.

For the plant, the machine was a step into chain retail: branded blocks under its own label replaced butter sold by weight, and the packing section no longer depends on the number and skill of packers. The plant's own staff service the machine and change it over to a different block format after training provided at start-up.
