Milk taxi: a mobile pasteurizer tank for calf feeding

In short. A milk taxi is a mobile pasteurizer tank on 3 or 4 wheels used to prepare, warm and deliver milk or milk replacer to calves. The stainless steel tank is usually 100–250 L; the agitator runs at 300 rpm (whole milk) and 1,000 rpm (milk replacer). It has a thermal cover and a brake, and the special Milberg configuration adds an electric wheel drive.
Feeding is one of the key processes in livestock farming. Animal well-being depends on how well it is organized. The health of adult cattle is laid down at an early age, which is why young stock need particular attention. Calf feeding and rearing equipment helps to supply calves with a nutritious feed quickly.
After birth, during the first months, calves are fed milk. The milk used for this should be rich in nutrients; however, if it is prepared incorrectly, it loses its beneficial properties. Farms also use a milk substitute known as milk replacer. Its use is justified by the fact that one tonne of milk replacer allows 10 tonnes of milk to be freed up for sale. However, the mixture has to be prepared correctly. To solve this properly, we offer an affordable milk taxi for calf feeding.
What is a milk taxi?
The unit is a wheeled platform carrying a dedicated milk tank. The taxi is equipped with a mixing device, feed dispensing equipment and a temperature control system.
This mobile unit helps you prepare, warm and deliver milk. We offer a calf-feeding pasteurizer tank that destroys pathogenic and undesirable microflora in the product.
Milk taxi design features
The thermal cover reduces milk cooling during feeding. The cart carrying the milk tank is very sturdy and is available with 3 or 4 wheels. The 3-wheel version is more manoeuvrable, while the 4-wheel version is more stable and moves easily over uneven ground, since it runs on 2 tracks rather than 3.
For excellent stability, the equipment must have a low centre of gravity and a wide wheelbase, and the milk taxi is designed with both. A handle is provided for moving the cart by hand. In the special Milberg configuration, the taxi has an electric wheel drive that propels the unit and switches between forward and reverse. The drive is mounted on dedicated axles. This is very convenient, as it allows the taxi to travel through snow and mud or up slopes. A brake is provided for parking.
The tank is made of stainless steel and usually holds 100–250 L (other sizes are possible). It is fitted with a dedicated agitator. The mixer can work in two modes. The first, at 300 rpm, is used for mixing whole milk. The second, at 1,000 rpm, is used for mixing milk replacer. Versions with 1,300 or 1,400 rpm are also available. The agitator drive is mounted at the top.
