Chukotka is a region where every piece of equipment must work without fail: the nearest service centre is thousands of kilometres away, and logistics depend on a short shipping season and air delivery. That makes it all the more telling that a production company from the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug chose Milberg equipment for its dairy workshop.
In March 2024 the customer received a VDP batch pasteurizer (long-time pasteurization vat). It is a versatile unit for small-scale production: milk pasteurization, holding at a set temperature and cooling are carried out in a single vessel, and, if required, cultured dairy products can be made and bases for sour cream and yoghurt fermented.
For a remote northern operation, a simple design is essential: a minimum of components that can fail, food-grade stainless steel and straightforward control of temperature modes. The workshop staff learned to operate the vat without lengthy training, and sanitary washing is done with standard means.
In such regions, local milk processing means fresh pasteurized products for residents without days of delivery from the mainland. The delivery confirmed that geography is no obstacle for the factory: the equipment was prepared for a challenging journey and handed over to the customer complete.
