- Curd (tvorog) and cultured dairy equipment
Tvorog (quark) production on an island is a challenge of its own: shipping equipment to Sakhalin takes a long time, and it has to work without failure. In July 2022 a dairy plant from the Sakhalin Region received a UPT-400 curd pressing and cooling unit from us.
The plant makes tvorog by the traditional method, and the final operations — whey removal, pressing and cooling — used to be performed separately, with a large amount of manual labour. The UPT-400 combines these operations in one machine: the curd mass is pressed to the required moisture and cooled at the same time, which immediately stops the build-up of acidity.
This is critical for the product: the tvorog has consistent moisture and taste from batch to batch, keeps longer and travels better across the region. For the workshop it means fewer transfers of product from one container to another and lower losses and labour costs every shift.
The unit was manufactured in Yekaterinburg, tested and shipped across the whole country, including a sea leg — the packaging was designed specifically for this route. The equipment arrived undamaged and was integrated into the plant's process line: the tvorog section gained a modern machine designed for many years of daily operation.
