A dairy plant near Moscow with its own livestock complex was looking for a way to bring order to the feeding of young stock: pouring milk into buckets by hand took staff hours and made it impossible to control portions. In April 2021 the company in the Moscow Region received an MT-250 milk taxi from Milberg.
The unit combines a 250-litre tank, heating, an agitator and a dosing gun in one mobile body. Milk or milk replacer is prepared right in the tank, brought to physiological temperature and dispensed pen by pen with accurate dosing — every calf gets its ration, no more and no less.
The stainless steel tank is easy to wash after every feed, which removes the risk of bacterial contamination — a common cause of digestive disorders in calves fed from buckets. Large wheels and well-thought-out weight distribution allow one operator to serve the calf barn without assistance.
The benefit for the farm is measured not only in time saved: identical temperature and accurate portions mean steady weight gain in young stock and a healthy replacement herd — the foundation of the plant's own raw milk supply for years to come. The milk taxi pays for itself simply by working every day without downtime or repairs.
