For operations that raise their own young stock, calf feeding is a daily task on which the health of the future herd directly depends. A manufacturing company in the Kirov Region mechanized this operation in February 2021 by buying an MT-200 milk taxi from our factory.

A milk taxi is a mobile 200-litre tank with heating, an agitator and a dosing unit. Milk or feeding mix is prepared right in the tank: heating brings the product to physiological temperature, the agitator keeps it uniform, and the operator then wheels the taxi round the sections and gives each calf an exact portion through the dispensing gun.

Compared with buckets and manual pouring the gains are obvious: the temperature is the same for every animal, portions are accurate, feeding time is cut several times over, and the physical load on staff falls. In a northern region with a long cold season, heating in the tank itself is especially important — the milk has no time to cool on the way from the milk kitchen to the calf barn.
