In-plant logistics of milk and mixes rarely becomes a focus of modernization, even though it is precisely when product is moved between areas that time and temperature are lost. A dairy plant in the Kaliningrad Region set out to solve this problem at its production site.

In August 2020 the plant received a Milberg MT-200 milk taxi. The mobile 200-litre tank with heating and a dosing unit makes it possible to move milk and milk mixes around the site while holding the set temperature and dispensing the product in portions through the dispensing gun.

On the plant site the taxi serves as a universal transport unit: delivering milk to remote areas, feeding young stock on the plant's ancillary farm, and moving mixes between workshops without decanting into intermediate containers. Every extra transfer is a risk of microbial contamination, and a closed mobile tank removes that risk.

For Russia's westernmost region our well-established delivery arrangements also paid off: the equipment was prepared for the long haul and handed over to the customer fully ready for operation, with nothing to be completed on site.
