Feeding calves whole milk takes a surprising amount of time on small farms: the milk has to be heated, taken to the calf barn and dispensed according to the ration before it cools. A private producer in the Lipetsk Region with its own herd decided to cover this whole operation with one machine.
That machine was the MT-200 milk taxi — a mobile 200-litre tank with heating and an agitator. Milk is heated to feeding temperature and held there, the agitator keeps the fat from separating, and the dosing gun lets the operator give each calf its ration without buckets or ladles.
The taxi was handed over to the customer in June 2022. The wheeled design is built for real farm conditions: uneven floors, thresholds and daily washing of the food-grade stainless steel tank.
It has noticeably changed the farm's routine: one person feeds all the young stock in a single pass through the calf barn, the milk temperature is the same for the first and the last calf, and rations are followed precisely. Healthy, evenly growing young stock are the future milking herd, so careful, dosed feeding with warm milk pays the farm back in milk a couple of years later. For a small private producer, this is one of the fastest-acting purchases on the livestock side of the business.
