In October 2023 a farm in the Moscow Region added a Milberg MT-100 milk taxi to its equipment fleet — a machine for mechanized calf feeding.
Before that, young stock were fed the old-fashioned way: milk was heated in containers in the farm kitchen, carried round in buckets, and portions were measured by eye. As the herd grew, this approach began to take up too much staff time, and variations in temperature and portion size were affecting the calves' condition.
The MT-100 combines everything a calf barn needs in one mobile machine: a 100-litre food-grade stainless steel tank, heating to a set temperature, an agitator that keeps the mix from separating, and a dispensing gun with a dosing unit. The operator moves the taxi along the pens and gives each calf the same warm portion — quickly and without heavy manual work with buckets.
The result for the farm is a predictable feeding regime and freed-up labour: one person now handles feeding where two used to be needed. Stable temperature and accurate dosing mean healthy digestion in young stock, on which the farm's future milking herd ultimately depends. Washing the machine after feeding takes just a few minutes, so the taxi is used at every feed, not just now and then.
